Finding a new Twin Cities townhome today is definitely a buyer’s market. The tried and true location, location, location is still of primary importance. A quick check of school districts, proximity to shops and a neighborhood feel are all important. Add to that the financial stability of the condo association, reading over the rules and regulations will determine if you want to invest in a given property. Avoid units on noisy thoroughfares, with a look to the future resale. The newer development, usually means that the HOA dues will be lower. However, watch out for new units with low occupancy, they may be headed for foreclosure if the majority of units don’t sell in a reasonable length of time.
